Man United blow as European giants rule out January negotiations for English star

Bellingham could follow in Sancho's footsteps at Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund will not negotiate with Manchester United for Jadon Sancho

According to German publication Sport Bild (h/t Daily Mail), Borussia Dortmund will not negotiate with Manchester United for Jadon Sancho in January.

The 20-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in January. However, United failed to meet Dortmund’s asking price and the youngster stayed put at the Bundesliga giants.

Any hopes of making a move for him when the market reopens in January has now been nipped in the bud.

Dortmund’s refusal to entertain negotiations in January would see Sancho see out the current campaign at Signal Iduna Park. He has started off this campaign in fine fashion by netting one goal and assisting two more in just three games.

The earliest United can make their move will be next summer. Whether the club will attempt to do so or not remains to be seen.

The young Englishman is among the best young footballers in the world today. He has gone from strength to strength since joining Dortmund in 2017.

Adding him to our attack would have boosted our frontline exponentially going into this season. It would also have sent out a message to the footballing world that United still have the power to attract the best names.

Meeting Dortmund’s £108m asking price for the player would have made Sancho our costliest ever transfer. Despite the price, it was also our best chance to have a go at him sans competition.

We have not made use of the opportunity and could now face competition from Liverpool and Bayern Munich for his signature.
