Manchester United reach an agreement with Facundo Pellistri over a summer move
According to Sebas Giovanelli of Sport890 (h/t Metro), Manchester United have arrived at an agreement with Penarol forward Facundo Pellistri over a summer transfer.
The 18-year-old has agreed upon a five-year deal with the Red Devils, with negotiations between the two clubs set to conclude soon.
Pellistri started out at the academy of La Picada and had a stint at River Plate Montevideo, before signing for Penarol. The teenager has risen rapidly through the ranks at the club and made his first-team debut in August 2019.
Since then, he has gone on to rack up 37 senior appearances for the Uruguayan outfit, scoring two goals and setting up four more.
It is claimed that Manchester United have been keeping an eye on the teenage winger for quite some time now. And as per the latest update, they could be on the verge of signing the young Pellistri.
The likes of Real Madrid, Olympique Lyon and Manchester City were all keen on signing the 18-year-old. However, it seems like Manchester United have beat their rivals to the transfer. (h/t Metro)
It is claimed that Penarol want to keep Pellistri at the club until January, but Manchester United are keen on bringing him to England right away. This could prove to be a sticking point, although a resolution is expected to be reached. (h/t Metro)

It has been a slow transfer window for United, with just one major transfer completed up until this point. But with the deadline less than two days away, there could be a flurry of activity at Old Trafford.
