Manchester United consider signing Sevilla’s Lucas Ocampos
According to ESPN (h/t Mirror), Manchester United are considering the possibility of making a move for Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos before the transfer window closes.
It is desperate times at Old Trafford as Manchester United struggle to bring in players when teams around them have all strengthened.
A new winger has been a top priority for the 20-time English champions, with the club spending the entire window chasing the signing of Jadon Sancho. However, a deal for the 20-year-old seems unlikely at the moment, forcing United to consider alternatives. (h/t Mirror)
And, as per the report, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are considering a swoop for Sevilla’s Argentine winger Lucas Ocampos.
The 26-year-old came through the youth ranks at River Plate in his homeland. He had stints at Monaco, Marseille, Genoa (loan) and AC Milan (loan), before joining Sevilla last summer.
Ocampos enjoyed a brilliant debut season, racking up 17 goals and 5 assists in 44 matches in all competitions. The three-time capped Argentine international helped Sevilla finish in the top four and win the UEFA Europa League.
The winger is likely to cost Manchester United in the region of €40m (£36.2m).

Manchester United currently lack quality depth in the wide attacking areas. Thus, bringing in a new winger is an absolute necessity.
However, considering how things have gone so far this summer, one shouldn’t pin too much hopes on Ed Woodward & co. to get a deal over the line.
