Manchester United interested in Aaron Ramsey
According to the Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t MEN), Manchester United are among a trio of clubs keen on Aaron Ramsey.
The Welsh international spent 11 seasons at Arsenal before moving to Juventus last summer. He has however failed to occupy a similar standing at Turin.
Ramsey has enjoyed mixed success and has been predominantly used as a substitute. With new manager Andrea Pirlo looking to revamp his squad, the 29-year-old could be on his way out.
Juventus are willing to part ways with Ramsey for a fee of €25million. Apart from United, fellow Premier League teams West Ham United and Crystal Palace are also keen on the Welshman. (h/t MEN)
Another issue that needs to be negotiated is the player’s huge salary. The 29-year-old earns an eye-watering £400,000-a-week. Having just gotten Alexis Sanchez off the wage bill, United could well be committing a blunder again.
United were keen on bringing in a midfielder this summer. However having missed out on Jude Bellingham, the club will now put off plans until next summer. (h/t MEN)
Ramsey’s advanced age is also a factor that could work against United making a move for him.
United are also keen on two other Juventus stars – Douglas Costa and Federico Bernardeschi. With the Jadon Sancho deal reaching an impasse, United have turned their attention to other targets. (h/t MEN)
Costa was one such player but interest has cooled of late. This is owing to the club’s belief that Bournemouth star David Brooks is easier to attain.

With the season just three weeks away, United are yet to add to their squad. Given the physical impact of the 2019/20 season, the club need to act fast to secure their targets.
Not doing so could see us fall behind our rivals who continue to strengthen. United have in recent times shown good acumen in the transfer market. However, this window has so far been one to forget.
