Borussia Dortmund enter the race for Manchester United target Jack Grealish
According to Ian McGarry of the Transfer Window Podcast (h/t Express), Borussia Dortmund have entered the race to sign Manchester United target Jack Grealish.
The Aston Villa skipper has emerged as a major target for United. The 24-year-old has made 35 appearances this season and has scored 9 goals and 8 assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
“It’s our understanding that Borussia Dortmund have entered into the race for the Aston Villa captain.”
According to the report, Grealish has already found a house in the Manchester area, and is confident of a deal going through.
United have refused to pay more than £50million on a single player this summer. This leaves our move for Grealish in doubt, with Villa wanting more than £75m for their star man. (h/t Express)
McGarry revealed that Grealish prefers to stay in the Premier League. However, United will only make the move if Villa is relegated. The Villans are currently in 18th place.
“They have the belief that if they do go down, both the player and the club will be much more open to the move.”
This is the third player for whom both sides are going head to head. We have ended up losing out on the likes of Jude Bellingham and Thomas Meunier to Dortmund.
Transfer expert Duncan Castles believes Villa will be open to a sale owing to their financial constraints.
