Luke Shaw hails Paul Pogba impact after coming on against Tottenham
Speaking to MUTV (h/t Mirror), Manchester United star Luke Shaw has hailed the impact of teammate Paul Pogba following the 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Friday night.
Manchester United needed a late rescue act from Pogba and Bruno Fernandes after having fallen behind in the first half to a Steven Bergwijn strike.
Pogba, who replaced Fred, a little after the hour mark to make his first appearance since December last year, was in his elements from the word-go.
The Frenchman offered a lot of attacking impetus from the centre, with his class and quality being visible each time he was on the ball.
With ten minutes left on the clock, the 27-year-old won a penalty after Eric Dier failed to deal with his clever dribbles and movement. Up stepped Bruno Fernandes and made no mistake, rescuing a point for the club against former manager Jose Mourinho.
In many ways, Pogba’s introduction was the turning point in the game and Shaw, who played the entire ninety minutes, hailed his teammate’s performance. (h/t Mirror)
“It was a great bit of skill from Paul to win the penalty. I said to him after how much of a difference he made and he didn’t play that long.
“It’s great to have him and Rashy [Marcus Rashford] back, they are very important players to our side and hopeful we can see Paul from the start on Wednesday.”

It was great to see Pogba perform the way he did on Friday night. The result may not have gone our way, but there were quite a few positives from the game. Hopefully, the Frenchman steps it up a notch and leads us to the Champions League qualification in the coming weeks.
