Man United do their part to help kick out racism by setting up a donation campaign

Manchester United to donate to anti-racism organization ‘Kick it out’

According to the Daily Star, Manchester United will donate all proceeds to anti-racism organization ‘Kick it Out’ from fans who decide to have ‘Black Lives Matter’ printed on their replica shirts.

Supporters who want to get it printed on their shirts can do so for £10. The cost will be used to help further the fight against racism that is prevalent today.

United are set to return to action as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wards take on Tottenham Hotspur. United players will wear shirts with ‘Black Lives Matter’ printed on the back in place of their names.

United managing director Richard Arnold came out in support of the initiative. He went on to state that the club will not fail to stand up for inequality in any form.

“Manchester United has a long-standing commitment against racism and discrimination, both through our own campaigns and through the support of external organizations working in this area.”

The club’s actions are to ensure their support of the movement and also the essential work ‘Kick it out’ does.

“We wanted to take this from being a valuable message of support to real tangible help for the essential work that Kick It Out does in this area.”

The organization’s chairman Sanjay Bhandari expressed his gratitude to United for their support.

The club’s gesture is one small step to a better future. A lot is still left to be done. With influential organizations like United throwing weight behind it, we can hopefully reach the goal one day.

It is not possible for us to erase the mistakes of the past. Rather than forget it or change the narrative, the future is better served by us learning from the past.
