Solskjaer drops Odion Ighalo hint following Man Utd’s 5-0 win vs LASK

According to a report by The Metro, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dropped a transfer hint about on-loan striker Odion Ighalo.

The striker joined us on loan on the deadline day of the January transfer window earlier this year. Despite being 30, he has been a revelation up front for the Red Devils.

A true-blue striker by trade, he has gotten off his United spell to a great start, scoring some decisive goals in key games for us lately.

So far, he has chipped in with 4 goals in 8 matches and even scored the opening goal as United thrashed LASK 5-0 in the Europa League.

Due to an injury to Marcus Rashford, United were left light in options to lead the line. The decision to not replace Romelu Lukaku after sanctioning his departure did prove to be costly.

However, Ighalo has provided us with a temporary sense of relief and Solskjaer admitted just as much. Speaking after the LASK game, he said:

“Odion has done really well since he came in and he’s enjoying himself.”

“And he will improve and get better but he has qualities we saw in him and we needed and we will still need those qualities for next season, so let’s see what we will do,” he added.

Solskjaer further went on to claim that Odion is a striker and doesn’t worry all that much about build-up play, even going as far as to call it “nonsense” (h/t The Metro).
