Paul Merson warns Man Utd about signing both Sancho and Grealish
According to a report by Daily Express, former Arsenal star Paul Merson has sent a warning to Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about signing Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.
Both stars have been linked with moves to Old Trafford in the summer but Merson believes that the addition of the duo would lead to congestion in the United squad – especially since we already signed Bruno Fernandes in the recently concluded January transfer window.
Fernandes has been one of our standout players since arriving at the club. Signing him was certainly a smart move and it has paid off richly.
However, Merson expressed his concern about Grealish and Sancho’s starting spots since we already have Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial vying for attacking roles.
Speaking on The Debate (h/t Daily Express), Merson said:
“I could see Grealish [at United] all day long”.
He went on to add,
“They’ve got to be careful though, Man United, of not just going ‘Right, we’ll go and get Grealish, we’ll go and get Sancho’, and then you bring them in and start thinking ‘Where’s everybody going to play? I’ve got Martial, I’ve got Rashford, I’ve got Bruno Fernandes’ and you’ve got to get them all in the team.”

To be fair, he is right. We would end up having a plethora of established attacking options while also having youngsters like Mason Greenwood in the mix.
There has to be a balance and perhaps, we should avoid signing both Grealish and Sancho.
