Bruno Fernandes has been subjected to intense interest from United

United are thin in the midfield after failing to replace Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini. The injuries to Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay have further highlighted the lack of cover in the position.

The Manchester outfit will pay add-ons of £4.2million – provided they secure Champions League qualification, with a further £4.2million that depends on the player’s participation.

Fernandes’ presence would add inventiveness and drive to a United midfield that lacks incisiveness going forward.

The 25-year-old has made 24 appearances for Lisbon this season and has scored 13 goals and 10 assists. (h/t Whoscored)
