Transfer News: Manchester United could sign Nuno Mendes in a swap deal

According to transfer news from Express, Manchester United could be looking to sign Nuno Mendes. It would be a swap deal between the club, and Alex Telles could go the other way despite only joining us this season.

The 18-year-old is one of the best young left-backs in European football today. His performances for Sporting Lisbon has earned him rave reviews resulting in him getting called up to the Portugal senior side for the first time.

A full international, Mendes is an extremely promising talent who is already Sporting’s first-choice left-back. He has so far made 26 appearances for them this season, scoring once and assisting two more. (h/t Transfermarkt)

It is being said that our talisman Bruno Fernandes is pushing the club to raid his old club again for Mendes. A swap deal could be on the cards because United already have two senior names in that position.

While a lot of people were expecting the newly arrived Telles to take the starting spot, Shaw has buckled down and made it his own.

More Manchester United News:

Even though Telles has been decent in the limited games, United could anyway go for the deal given how big of a talent Mendes is.

Fernandes is vouching for the player who he played alongside before joining United. It remains to be seen if United pay heed to the advice of ‘agent’ Bruno and actually go after Nuno Mendes.
