Deal Agreed (€35m + €5m Add-Ons) – Manchester United Are All Set To Sign This Versatile Swedish Star

It looks like we’re up for some positive news on the transfer front. Manchester United have never been shy of spending money on their transfer targets and it is a great attribute, to be honest.

Reports have emerged that we are splashing the cash on a certain centre-half from Benfica. The Record claims that a deal has been agreed between Manchester United and Benfica for the transfer of Victor Lindelof. We are all set to complete this deal. The only thing that is pending is the apparent contract agreement between Lindelof and Manchester United.

The fee will be €35 million plus €5 million in performance-based bonuses to Benfica. The 22-year old is a massive part of the Benfica set-up and made 47 appearances last season for the Portuguese club. He also scored his only goal of the season in the 1-1 draw against Sporting CP, which earned his team a point.

Lindelof is primarily a centre-back, also capable of playing as a right-back. He is a ball-playing defender, who we have lacked for quite a long time now. His arrival is sure to put some pressure on the club’s current central defenders.

The 22-year old is a great passer of the ball and likes to find his midfielders at short distances, thus helping his side build the play up from the midfield. It will be a massive asset at Manchester United as our game relies on the brilliance of midfield maestros like Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera.

Another huge strength of Lindelof is that despite his young age, he is extremely composed when defending and only received one yellow card all season. Talk about keeping a cool head!

If we do manage to sign Lindelof, then we’d be doing ourselves a massive favour of adding a quality young centre-half to our ranks. The prospect of Eric Bailly and Lindelof pairing up at central defence gives me goose bumps and hopefully, the news is true, and the deal goes through.
