Strongest Manchester United XI To Face Leicester City

Claudio Ranieri’s side and Van Gaal’s men will go head-to-head in the Premier League once again at Old Trafford. The league leaders only need one win to seal their first ever Premier League title. But, they have to do that without their main striker, Jamie Vardy who has also scored 22 goals for them in the league this season.

Van Gaal’s men need to get as many points as they can in their remaining four Premier League games to try and reach the fourth spot.

It will be an exciting match to watch as both the teams will be keen on grabbing three points.

Here’s how we think Manchester United will line-up against the Foxes on Sunday:

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Goalkeeper: David De Gea

The no. 1 has always been consistently marvelous and keeps his place in the starting XI every time.

Defenders: Antonio Valencia (RB), Chris Smalling (CB), Dailey Blind (CB), Matteo Darmian (LB)

Valencia will be preferred to play instead of Fosu-Mensah as the young Dutch player didn’t do quite well in the last match and also gave away a penalty.

Chris Smalling and Dailey Blind will be doing their business as usual as the center-backs.

Matteo Darmian has been improving his game and thus, remains the best left-back until Shaw returns back to his form.

Midfielders: Morgan Schneiderlin (CDM), Anthony Martial (LM), Wayne Rooney (CM), Juan Mata (CM), Jesse Lingard (RM)

The French midfielder Schneiderlin can be the right man to play in the defensive midfield rather than Fellaini as he is the kind of player who can move the ball forward with his short passing play. And that’s what United needs against a fast paced team like Leicester.

Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney, without a doubt, reserve their position in the starting XI after their astounding performance in the F.A Cup semi-final alongside.

Lingard has been the default right-flank midfielder and Sunday’s match won’t be any different for the English youngster.

Forward: Marcus Rashford

Even though Rashford has not been able to continue his goal scoring spree, he has been a key element in the attack. His pace and movement is threatening to the opposition. Moreover, the youngster has also started to link up with the skipper well and early.
