Marcus Rashford v Robert Huth And Other Key battles That Will Decide United’s Game Against Leicester City

Manchester United takes on Leicester City at Old Trafford in the Premier League this Sunday, in a game of huge consequences. A win for the Foxes could give them their first ever league title, while a win for us will take us closer to the fourth spot and make the title race infinitely more tantalizing. United are on a high having won 4 games in a row and having made it to the FA Cup final, while Claudio Ranieri’s men have had a fairytale campaign so far, beating off challenges from the likes of Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester City to almost capture the coveted Premier League trophy. The implications of this game could be massive, and here are the 3 key battles which could decide the game’s outcome:

1. Marcus Rashford v Robert Huth

The 18 year old striker has been carrying United all on his own at times this season, but he will probably be up against his toughest opponent so far this season, in the form of Robert Huth. The big, burly defender has silenced the likes of Olivier Giroud, Sergio Aguero and Ighalo this season, and has been a rock at the back for Leicester. Rashford will have to use his pace with a lot of intelligence, and that will be a real test for the young academy graduate who has so far grabbed 8 goals this season.

2. Matteo Darmian v Riyad Mahrez

The Italian will be up against the Algerian in this battle of the wings. Mahrez, who is probably the jewel in Ranieri’s crown, is a silky smooth player who has scored 16 goals and has 11 assists to his name this season to win the PFA Player’s Player of the Year award. Darmian has to get his defending spot on, if he is to stop the man who has already been linked to a number of clubs, most notably Arsenal and Barcelona.

3. Daley Blind and Chris Smalling v Leonardo Ulloa

As Vardy faces an extra match ban, Ranieri will surely go for the Argentine Striker Leonardo Ulloa. With no doubts in mind, the striker made his mark on the game against Swansea and scored a brace. He actually proved the phrase ‘No Vardy; No Problem’ by giving an emphatic performance against the Swans. Smalling and Blind will have their hands full if he does feature, since his energy, ability in the air and confidence is sky high. This will probably be the most exciting of all the 3 battles!
