Manchester Evening News has reported that Louis Van Gaal’s top priority is John Stones of Everton. The young defender has been a revelation last year and in the summer some big money moves were attempted for the English player. None of the attempted deals managed to materialize due to Everton’s unwillingness to transfer the player.
Even though Chelsea were the main team to run after the player’s signature, Manchester United were said to be interested at that time as well. Now it is reported that United has observed and scouted the player enough to decide that he is the right man for the job at Old Trafford. The player was valued at £30 million in the summer but if reports are to be believed, United are willing to shell out £45 million for the defender.
It is a very big amount of money for a young defender but United are willing to spend big as the club is on the way to top the Deloitte’s Money Football League in the coming year.
