Scouting For Manchester United: 3 Players Who Fit LVG’s Philosophy Perfectly

Daley Blind

Interestingly enough, Daley Blind is someone who should fit into LVG’s philosophy well and that’s probably why he brought him. The versatile Dutchman can be played as a defensive mid-fielder or a left-back or as we’ve most recently seen, as a centre-back. He is very good with the ball at his feet and his distribution is good. He can do the job his father did for LVG at Ajax. However, with so many options in mid-field and injuries, he’s only getting the chance to play at left back or centre back in a back four.

Toni Kroos

The Real Madrid man would be a good fit for Van Gaal’s philosophy as well. He is a good passer of the ball and has good vision. He can provide more of an attacking threat than any of United’s midfielder’s currently provide. The fact that United play a possession based game would also help him and would make their attack much more potent. He’s calm on the ball which helps when he’s playing deeper as well.
