Manchester United reject chance to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic in January
Manchester United will not move for Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to Sky Sports. The Swede spent a couple of seasons with the Red Devils and scored 29 goals for them.
The report claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to increase his striking options in the January window, but won’t move for the 38-year-old.
Ibrahimovic won the Europa League and the Carabao Cup during his spell at Old Trafford. However, he left after picking up a serious knee injury and joined MLS side LA Galaxy.
Ibrahimovic has been excellent for the MLS side and scored 31 goals and provided eight assists this season. LA missed the finals in both of Ibrahimovic’s seasons at the club and is again a free agent.
The Swede has won every title possible at club level apart from the Champions League and hasn’t lifted the World Cup too.
A wise move from the Red Devils?
United could do with another striker joining in the summer and the decision to not replace Romelu Lukaku is still surprising.
Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have tried to star at the tip of the attack, but the pair hasn’t been consistent in scoring goals.
Mason Greenwood still needs time to develop his game, and it will be interesting to see who we could move for in January.
