Manchester United Linked With Premier League Duo, But Where Would They Fit In?

If you are to believe the Express, Manchester United are ready to launch a big money move for Southampton pairing Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana, who have both impressed at St Mary’s this season. They have also been the topic of debate when it comes to the England side, but should they arrive at Old Trafford in the summer then where would they fit in?

Starting with Shaw, as his role in the side is the most obvious, the teen would slot straight into the left-back berth. Patrice Evra is out on contract in the summer and it’s unknown whether he will stay at the club, but with Shaw coming in it would probably spell the end.

Shaw is a powerful player who loves to get up the field and help with the attacking side of things, but is also technically brilliant when in the defensive stages of the game.

Lallana is a player who is comfortable in the middle of the pitch but also when playing in a slightly wider role. It depends on how the side he is playing for shape up, but in the United team I would probably have him in a central role.

With Michael Carrick keeping the ball moving and spraying passes around the pitch, I would have Lallana adding the energy and guile into a slightly more offensive position. He is a creative outlet who has scored seven and assisted five this term and could spark some amazing form for the Red Devils.
