Moyes Should Offload Current Striking Pair And Look To Sign Mandzukic – Here’s Why

I don’t need to tell you how Manchester United’s season is going. The Red Devils ‘ form has been reported on, analysed and ripped to shreds ever since David Moyes came into the club and they currently sit sixth in the table, nine points behind Manchester City in fourth. Manuel Pellegrini’s men do have two games in hand, though. But I think I know how to fix that problem.

A lot has been said about the state of United’s midfield this season, but I don’t think that is where the problem sits. I don’t even think it’s the shoddy backline. I actually point towards the strikers, though that will probably get me shot down in flames.

Hear me out.

Moyes loves his players to throw balls into the box at every opportunity. We have seen this over the last seven months but an increase over the last couple of weeks. United don’t have the sort of striker who is going to make the most of that.

If I was Moyes I would get rid of Javier Hernandez and Robin van Persie and replace them with a real target man who likes to get his head on the end of crosses.

Mario Mandzukic is the player I’d swoop for. He has scored 18 goals in his 21 starts and seven substitute appearances and for me has everything that Moyes could want.

United fans do you agree?
