The latest reports on Ivan Perisic indicate that the Inter Milan winger is moving closer to Manchester United (Daily Express). The optimism among Red Devils’ fans has gone up as the Croatian international is being perceived as a game changer for United.
This is not a new link for the fans – Perisic has been a regular feature among fans’ discussions ever since the transfer window opened. Manager Jose Mourinho had given his list to Ed Woodward and it is rumoured that Perisic’s name is top of that wish list.
We tried taking advantage of Inter’s problems because of Financial Fair Play (FFP) but resistance from the San Siro club meant that we had to wait longer for the deal. Inter want £48million for a player who is reportedly angling for a move to Old Trafford.
United are ready to pay up to £44million and talks are assumed to be going on between the clubs and at the agent level. Top sources at the club maintain that the conversation stage of the deal is done and that could mean a quick resolution on the cards.
How Is His Potential Arrival Perceived?
Perisic is a player whose class needs no introduction. The screamer that the 28-year-old scored against Chelsea in the recent friendly game is a timely reminder of his abilities.
In fact, as pointed out by this report on Daily Star, the top-six rivals of United fear the addition of Perisic to our squad. He is viewed as a top player who will take the club to the next level and could be a potential game changer. Perisic would be a make-the-difference signing for United.
Where Will He Fit?
Mourinho is looking for a winger and Perisic will add competition to places in the squad. Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, and even Juan Mata will look over the shoulders if Perisic gets into the team.

I have been reading ‘Perisic to United’ from day one and all this at the same high pitch. The winger is sure to join Old Trafford and it is only a question of ‘when’. Will he win the League for us? I would love to say ‘yes’ but it will take more than a Perisic for us to win back the Premier League title.
However, rivals are already looking concerned. Daily Star (h/t Express) quotes that an insider of United’s top 6 rival looks very much concerned. He said;
“Perisic would be a make-the-difference signing for United.
“He’s a top, top player and if United get him – added to what they have already got – they will take some stopping this season and could well win the league.”
