Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has urged Jose Mourinho to sign Alexis Sanchez of Arsenal and feels that the Chilean would lift his teammates wherever he goes. What an outrageous claim by Giggsy here!
Alexis Sanchez has been top notch for the Gunners ever since he joined them from Barcelona for £35million and has been their go-to man this campaign as Arsene Wenger has heavily relied on the South American to deliver the goods for his side. However, he has been to solo warrior for Arsenal this term as they languish at 5th place in the Premier League table.
Manchester United have had their own share of struggles this season but it can be considered a successful one as the Red Devils have already won the EFL Cup and are in the finals of Europa League, which is certainly a better achievement than reaching the finals of the FA Cup.
However, Ryan Giggs feels that Jose should rather sign Alexis Sanchez, and says that the Chilean is tough, and is a winner.
Giggs was quoted by the Manchester Evening News,
“[He’s] a brilliant player. His work rate, the effect he has on his team-mates, a winner. He just looks how South Americans are, tough aren’t they. Yeah. Jose Mourinho bought [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic because he is a winner. He’d won everywhere he’d gone. Not only the effect on the pitch but off the pitch as well. You can just feel that Sanchez would give his team-mates a lift.”
Alexis was nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award, which was eventually won by Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante. Sanchez has scored an amazing 27 goals and 19 assists in 49 appearances this season and has been on fire for Arsene Wenger’s men.
In Arsenal’s previous league encounter at Stoke, the South American beast suffered a thigh injury and asked for a substitution. He had to wait for the play to be stopped, which took a few minutes. Eventually, it was his goal that led to the stoppage in play and Alexis was taken off immediately after scoring.
Sanchez will be entering the final year of his current deal at the Emirates and is yet to sign a new contract with Arsenal, which has led to a lot of speculations about his future.
Do you think Manchester United should sign Alexis Sanchez?
