Manchester United are yet to receive any concrete offers for Christian Eriksen

There are no solid offers from European clubs for Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Manchester United star Christian Eriksen’s future remains up in the air amid interest from several clubs across Europe.

The Denmark international joined the Red Devils on a free transfer from Brentford in the summer of 2022, penning a three-year contract until 2025. This means he has less than a year remaining on his current contract at Old Trafford. Eriksen currently earns £150,000 per week at Man Utd.

After a strong debut season where he formed a formidable midfield pairing with Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, Christian Eriksen was limited to only 28 appearances in all competitions this past season—with only 12 Premier League appearances coming as a starter. This has raised question marks around his future at the club.

The creative midfielder’s progress and momentum were slightly halted by an ankle injury following a nasty tackle from Andy Carroll in January 2023 and since then, his fortunes at Manchester United have taken a downward trajectory.

Turkish clubs Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have been tentatively linked with Eriksen in recent weeks. Despite being linked with a move to the Turkish Super Lig, the aforementioned report claims there is no concrete interest in the Danish midfield maestro.

For Man United to let go of the 32-year-old, they would demand a fee, however, it isn’t expected to be a sizeable one as he has less than 12 months remaining on his existing deal. The Red Devils are ready to sell him for less than €10million this summer, yet no club has made a solid offer for Eriksen thus far.

This leaves the veteran star in a precarious position as his contract winds down, with the Red Devils supposedly open for offers—provided the price is right. While his former club Ajax have shown some interest in Eriksen, this interest has yet

to transform into serious negotiations.

The ex-Tottenham star would like to stay at Man United and take the chances that come his way with both hands in the upcoming season, hoping for a contract extension offer opening up.

While some fans would prefer Eriksen to stay due to the experience and class he brings to the table, the rise of Kobbie Mainoo could limit his chances drastically. Furthermore, the 20-time English champions are still assessing the market for a central midfielder as an upgrade to what they already possess.

Combine this with the fact that Mason Mount, who is raring to prove his worth after an injury-ravaged first season in Manchester, is also waiting on the wings to make an impression, and it is tough to see where Eriksen fits in. With the transfer window entering its final month, let’s hope we can offload Eriksen and get a fee to reinvest into rebuilding the squad under Ten Hag.
