Bruno Fernandes insists Manchester United are aware of their predicament, says players are willing to give their all in season’s last two games

Speaking after last night’s game, Bruno Fernandes stated that Man United were aware of their precarious situation and that the players were willing to do their best in the last two games of the season.

Man United had a positive result for once as they beat Newcastle United 3-2 in front of the home crowd.

As quoted by the Manchester Evening News, the United captain had this to say of his side’s situation after the game:

“It has been a tough season. The table shows that and we are all aware of that. The fans have been amazing and behind us all season. We all appreciate what they have been doing for us. We want to do better and do differently and they [the fans] deserve that.

“They have been amazing for us and we had to do something, we have been trying but results don’t show that. We have been working hard and everyone has been giving their best, it is not enough and we have to do more. We still have two games to go and we have to finish in the best way.

“It doesn’t exist, a captain’s performance, it is a team performance. I am no different from anyone just because I have the armband. I always try my best and we always do the best we can for the club – nobody hides that we play for a big club and we have to lift our standards every game.”

The Portugal international has been in the news recently not just for his performances but also due to links emerging

between him and some of Europe’s biggest clubs, the 29-year-old having been reported to be considering starting a new chapter elsewhere next season.

United face Brighton in their last Premier League game of the season ahead of the FA Cup final rematch against Man City on May 25.

All talk until we see action

If there is one thing we can say about Man United last night, it’s that their performance was a spirited one, which cannot be said of their last few outings.

The team hit all the right notes after the game as well, with both Bruno Fernandes and Erik ten Hag saying the right things in front of the mic.

More Manchester United News-

Yesterday’s win was better than nothing, but it’s far from convincing any United fan of a change of fortunes. United have one more game left to fill themselves and their fans with any semblance of belief going into the FA Cup final, which will not only be their final shot at silverware this season, it also be their last chance to get European football for next season.
