Manchester United to part ways with Erik ten Hag at the end of the season
Speaking on the Inside Track Podcast, Peter O’Rourke had a huge update on the future of Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag as we near the end of the 2023-24 football campaign.
Having spent close to two full seasons at Old Trafford, the Dutchman has failed to turn around the club’s fortunes. While he has led us to one League Cup and two FA Cup finals, the reign as a whole leaves much to be desired.
His tactical fallacies have been exploited in the Premier League and Europe on several occasions. While injuries can be considered an excuse of sorts, his inability to shift gears and get the best out of his side remains a valid concern.
With INEOS keen to take the club back to their perch, some strong decisions need to be made. With the Red Devils unlikely to qualify for Europe next season, Ten Hag finds himself on shaky ground.
United were thrashed 4-0 to Crystal Palace last weekend and it appears to have made up INEOS’s minds. Sunday’s clash against Arsenal could prove to be another hammer in the coffin unless they can channel in their best performance of the season.
As things stand, United look set to part way with the Dutchman at the end of the season. Hopefully it can end on a high with us winning the FA Cup.
Winning the trophy did little help to Louis van Gaal’s hope of retaining the top seat at Old Trafford. It would appear that Ten Hag is following the same script.

Much was expected of Ten Hag when he arrived at United but he has more or less become yet another causality of the club’s disorganization. However, responsibility for results lies with the manager and his tactical inflexibility has cost us dear. Whether the Dutchman will pull through or be the latest addition to the Old Trafford manager go around remains to be seen.
