Jose Mourinho wants to return to Manchester United
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Jose Mourinho is willing to return to Manchester United for a second time. The Portuguese manager has previously stated he feels like he has unfinished business at Old Trafford.
Seeing how he’s a friend of new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the team is currently breaking all the wrong records, the timing is perfect for his return. However, the report also states that the Red Devils will likely not be going after the Portuguese manager.
Erik ten Hag is still at risk of being replaced and the club has already assessed some possible options. If the team’s streak of being absolutely terrible doesn’t end soon the Dutchman might not even make it till the end of the season.
However, whether Erik ten Hag stays or not Jose Mourinho will not most likely not get approached by Manchester United. Mourinho led the team to the Carabao Cup and won the Europa League in his first season in charge.
However, his reign came to a quick end when the club sacked him in December 2018. Mourinho’s Manchester United was exciting. He didn’t get the proper backing he needed in the summer of 2018.
If he did, their season could’ve been much better than what it was. So, it’s no wonder that the Portuguese manager feels like he’s got unfinished business.
