Manchester United are losing the race to sign €50m rated midfielder
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are falling behind in the race to sign €50m rated midfielder, Amadou Onana. Arsenal, Newcastle United and Bayern Munich are the clubs which are said to be in the lead.
So, the Red Devils have not one but three sizeable opponents to defeat if they wish to sign 22-year-old Onana. The Old Trafford squad has long been linked to the Everton midfielder and he would be a welcome addition to the squad.
With Casemiro edging closer to an exit, United could easily plug the hole in their middle line with a player like Amadou. Moreover, the 22-year-old can be paired alongside 19-year-old Kobbie Mainoo.
With Kobbie Mainoo and Amadou Onana holding down the fort as defensive midfielders Manchester United will have a solid front for years to come. However, as reported the team is falling behind.
The 22-year-old has made 35 appearances this season, his tall frame of 1.95m paired with his ridiculous agility has impressed a lot of people this season. Moreover, Onana still has a ton of room to grow.
Manchester United might end up regretting it if they miss out on a player of the Belgian’s quality. The new ownership of INEOS led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe has a lot to prove this summer. Onana could be exactly the kind of signing they need to send a statement.
