Manchester United are frontrunners to sign French forward who Chelsea failed to sign

As reported by ESPN, Manchester United are the frontrunners in the race to sign Frenchman, Michael Olise, but could face competition from Chelsea. The Blues were very close to signing the Crystal Palace winger last summer, but the deal fell apart due to a technicality.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Chelsea are back for Olise this summer. Arsenal are also looking at Olise as an option this summer and they are already determined to fight United for Marc Guehi.

The Red Devils will be fighting on a lot of fronts this summer. However, they have to keep in mind that they can’t offer UCL participation to players anymore. So, a lot of the other top-flight clubs have an advantage over them.

But the club doesn’t seem deterred due to this and believes that not being in the UCL will not be an issue. Olise would be a big signing for Manchester United and will bring some much-needed offensive power to the fold.

He is an excellent winger and can easily cut past defenders, his creativity and playmaking will also prove to be huge for United. However, his price tag will surely be made after taking all of this into account.

Transfermarkt values the player at €50m which seems to be a fair asking price for a young and promising talent. Olise is affordable and Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team consider him a priority for this summer.
