Fresh concerns for Manchester United with Scott McTominay injured during Burnley draw
Manchester United have received a fresh injury blow going into the last month of the season with midfield star Scott McTominay now sidelined.
The Scottish international picked up an injury during Erik ten Hag‘s side’s 1-1 draw against Burnley on the weekend and was replaced by Mason Mount in injury time.
Speaking to MUTV, the Dutch manager confirmed that the injury required more diagnosis and the Scotland international could be out for a while. McTominay’s energy levels will certainly be missed in the middle of the park.
“We have to assess this, to set the diagnosis.
“I don’t know in this moment to return [against Crystal Palace next month], I think it’s a little bit too quick turnaround.”
“I don’t know. You have seen he has a problem. We have to diagnose this and see what it is.”

Last week’s Premier League action confirmed that Manchester United will not be participating in next season’s Champions League. With four league games left, the best they can do now is hold on to the sixth spot and get ready for the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
Waiting for the misery to end
The end of the season can’t come soon enough for the Red Devils faithful. Disappointing performances and a string of injuries have plagued Manchester United, leading to growing frustration among the fanbase. With each passing day, Erik ten Hag’s case for remaining at the club seems to weaken, as the team’s struggles persist.
While the prospect of lifting the FA Cup trophy in the final game of the season may seem daunting given the team’s recent form, the final is a one-off event where anything can happen. Despite the challenges United have faced, the magic of cup competitions often brings unexpected twists and turns. The FA Cup final presents an opportunity for redemption and a chance to salvage something positive from what has been a difficult season.
