Report: Financially-troubled PL club could be forced to sell £80m Manchester United target before June 30 even after takeover

Manchester United could take advantage of a financially troubled PL club to sign a £80m target

As reported by The Sun, Manchester United could take advantage of Everton’s financial troubles to sign £80m defender, Jarrad Branthwaite. The Toffees are in desperate need of money and the 21-year-old is their most valued asset.

If it wasn’t for Branthwaite’s against Liverpool a few nights ago, Everton would’ve been in a very dangerous position. The Toffee’s relegation from the Premier League wouldn’t have survived a lot of folks.

However, they are holding on for now but the person who got them through the toughest trial could leave soon. Everton are desperately waiting for 777 Partners to take over and hopefully, provide them with a cash injection.

The team has already been handed an eight-point penalty and things could quickly get worse if they don’t balance their books somehow. Selling Branthwaite before the season ends on June 30th seems to be their best option right now.

Man United are in the lead to sign the 21-year-old defender and could use Everton’s financial struggles to bring down Branthwaite’s price a little. However, it would be best if the Red Devils don’t get greedy since there is no shortage of suitors for the English defender.

At 21, Branthwaite already looks like one of the best defenders in the Premier League. There is no telling how good he will be in a few years once he gets some more experience under his belt.
