Ian Wright slams Manchester United star for his lack of respect
Former Premier League forward, Ian Wright isn’t happy about the demeanour of Manchester United star, Marcus Rashford. The Manchester-born star has been going through a difficult time at Old Trafford this season.
His drop in form is another issue but he hasn’t made things easy for himself with his off-the-pitch antics either. While speaking on the Stick To Football podcast, Roy Keane said that Rashford should lean on the team’s more experienced players like Raphael Varane.
Ian Wright was quick to clap back and argued that the 26-year-old lacks respect for those more experienced than him. Let’s have a look at what else he had to say about the situation (Stick To Football)
“Nothing changes in respect of an experienced player in a team that’s meant to help you,”
“Rashford hasn’t got respect for them players, I don’t think he has respect for them.
“He’s got experience around him, but you’ve got to respect the experience around him, because look at Harry Maguire and what he’s going through.
However, Wright didn’t completely bash Rashford and said that he expected more from Raphael Varane. However, the Frenchman is not obligated to help the Manchester-born star, when he hasn’t been at his best.
Maguire on the other hand has been even worse. The former skipper’s age is catching up to him and he can’t exactly keep up with the pace of young players anymore. Both Varane and Maguire are stars but they have their own issues to tend to.
Moreover, Rashford’s struggle seems to be more of a mental thing. Last night he saw thirty minutes of action against Chelsea but failed to influence the game at all. He was practically jogging the entire time despite coming off the bench.
