Wolves boss, Gary O’Neil delivers verdict on links to Manchester United
Head coach for the Wolves, Gary O’Neil is the latest in a long list of individuals who have recently been linked to Manchester United. There has been a lot of doubt surrounding the future of Erik ten Hag and talk of a sack has started to grow.
The Dutchman needs to make it to the UCL next season and win the FA Cup this year if he wants to solidify his position. However, most people will pick Erik ten Hag to fail this task because of his inconsistency.
This season we have Manchester United lose the most unexpected games and come out on top when faced with poor odds. While the second half of their season has been much better, the damage was already done during the first.
Here’s what Gary O’Neil had to say about the talk linking him to Old Trafford. (h/t BBC)
“I don’t know where it came from,”
“I love it here. I’m a head coach, I’m always going to be a head coach. I’m really enjoying my time at Wolves.”
The Wolves chief added that he only became aware of the links to Manchester United because of his media team. As it is clear to see O’Neil is not interested in the job. Even if he was, the Red Devils don’t seem to be hiring at the moment.
It seems like Erik ten Hag’s FA Cup triumph over Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool did do some good after all. For the time being, the Dutchman’s job seems to be secure. However, things could change if he starts dropping games again.
Manchester United are about to enter a crucial part of the season and failure is not an option. From now until the end of the season, the Red Devils will have to be perfect.
