“Silenced the criticism” – Manchester United loanee on Darwin Nunez
Manchester United loanee, Facundo Pellistri has been extremely happy with his fellow countryman Darwin Nunez. The 24-year-old has faced a lot of criticism while playing for Liverpool. However, nothing seems to faze the Uruguayan.
Despite everything Nunez 16 goals and 12 assists while making 40 appearances this season. He has played a big part in the Reds’ push for silverware. Here’s what Pellistri had to say about him while speaking to ESPN.
“He silenced the criticism with performances and goals, and today he is happy in the place he occupies.”
Pellistri also mentioned that he is wrongfully compared to legends of the Uruguayan team like Luis Suarez. Suarez is an all-time great and played with some of the best players of his time. He would look better when compared to Nunez.
However, for his age, Nunez has done well for himself. He is a top striker for one the strongest teams in the Premier League at just 24. As time goes by the Uruguayan will only continue to get better.
Moreover, Nunez will be getting some stiff competition from Manchester United’s very own up-and-coming striker. Rasmus Hojlund has already shown that he can hang with the best. The Dane is even younger than Nunez and has already made a place for himself in the United first team.
24-year-old Nunez and 21-year-old Hojlund can give each other healthy competition which will surely help both players grow.
