Argentina make selection decision for Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez who is recovering from an injury
Manchester United star, Lisandro Martinez has been having a rough season. The Argentina star has been injured twice this season. He picked up a foot injury back in September which kept him out for four months.
Shortly after his return, a bad collision during the game against West Ham led to a knee injury. Now, Martinez was expected to return around March 30. However, as reported by The Mirror, the Argentina team has called the 26-year-old up for duty.
The team will be participating in two international friendlies on March 23rd and 27th. So there have been a lot of people asking whether calling up Martinez was the right call. What if he picks up another injury?
Manchester United have just started to get back to their winning ways. The team lost two games which put an end to their seven-game unbeaten streak. However, their win against Everton puts them back in the race for the top four.
The Red Devils are also about to get a lot of their stars back from injury. Rasmus Hojlund is expected to be involved on Sunday. Mason Mount is also back in training. Moreover, Lisandro Martinez was expected to return at the start of April.
Now, if the Argentina star gets injured while he’s on international duty the Red Devils will lose their most important defender. Having Martinez in the team is crucial if Manchester United want to qualify for UCL.
