Manchester United loanee could soon be on his way to FC Barcelona
As reported by Spanish publication Sport, FC Barcelona are looking to bring in Manchester United loanee, Mason Greenwood. The 22-year-old has been highly impressive during his loan spell at Getafe which has made several top-flight clubs interested in him.
However, the Catalan club could take precedence as Greenwood has earlier stated that playing at Barcelona is a dream for him. Now, one might think that Barca’s financial situation might make a deal difficult.
But, the English winger only has one year left on his contract. Moreover, all the controversies surrounding him could mean that Manchester United aren’t looking to retain the player. All of this could allow Barca to sign him for cheap.
In 26 appearances this season, Mason has recorded eight goals and six assists. His ability to go through defenders and get into scoring positions is very highly rated. If the Catalans don’t make a move, someone else surely will.
Barcelona also has a ton of promising young talent on their team. So, the Catalans can offer up one of their young starlets to United in pursuit of a cheap deal. However, anyone they offer will probably not be as great as their youngest player, Lamine Yamal.
But, Man United have been linked to Raphinha in the past. His future at Barcelona is uncertain so the Red Devils could ask for him in return for Mason Greenwood.
