Ian Wright names three Manchester United players as he highlights Erik ten Hag’s failing strategy
Ian Wright like many others seems to be unhappy with what Manchester United coach, Erik ten Hag has done in the transfer market. The Dutchman has spent a lot of money since he arrived at Old Trafford.
However, there aren’t a lot of results to show for all the millions he’s spent. This season the team couldn’t even make it out of the UCL group stage. Next season, they might not even be there.
While talking to Premier League productions, Former Arsenal striker, Ian Wright named three players as he went on to slam Ten Hag’s strategy. Let’s have a look at what he had to say. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
“You can’t buy players like Antony and it doesn;t work. (Sofyan) Amrabat coming in and it doesn’t work. Why did you buy Mason Mount?”
These three signings have been massive flops for the Red Devils. To make it hurt more, Wright even compared Manchester United to their local rivals Man City.
The former Arsenal man exclaimed that signings like this would not take place at the Etihad Stadium. Seeing how better Man City’s team is when compared to the Red Devils one might even be inclined to agree.
However, the situation could change quickly as Sir Jim Ratcliffe is planning a summer overhaul of the squad. He is expected to make major improvements to the squad.
