Crystal Palace line up replacements for Manchester United target Marc Guehi
In a major development for Manchester United, Crystal Palace are bracing themselves for the possible departure of vice-captain Marc Guehi in the upcoming summer transfer window who sees himself linked with a number of clubs including United and Liverpool.
That is as per The Sun. Ever since making the switch from Chelsea to South London back in 202, the 23-year-old central defender has been a consistent performer and has also garnered interest from fellow London clubs including Tottenham and Arsenal. He also has nine caps for England to his name.
The Telegraph also reports that the Eagles have compiled a list of potential candidates to replace the England international. This might be proof of the fact that Guehi is closer than ever to departing Crystal Palace.
The fact that Guehi has only two more years left on his contract (Transfermarkt) means that this will be Palace’s last chance saloon to draw a significant transfer fee for their vice-skipper who has 108 appearances across all competitions for Palace.
Currently nursing a knee injury he suffered last month, he shall see himself further sidelined for four more weeks. Nevertheless, the player he is will greatly help Manchester United’s cause. His ability to play out from the back, carry the ball and also stand strong in defensive situations makes him an attractive prospect for any side.
As the end of the season approaches in May, speculation surrounding Guehi’s future is likely to intensify. Palace will need to navigate the transfer market carefully to secure the best possible outcome for both the club and the player.
