Manchester United skipper, Bruno Fernandes has laid out the team’s Premier League ambitions for this season.
Bruno Fernandes gave it his all as Manchester United took on their bitter rivals Man City earlier this week. However, despite his and the team’s best efforts the Blues proved to be too much for them.
Thanks to the three points that Guardiola and his men took away from Erik ten Hag and his team, they are now one point behind league leaders Liverpool. On the other hand, Man United have stayed dormant in sixth place and needs 11 points to catch up to the top four.
Their chances of playing in the UCL next season are now slim, to say the least. Bruno Fernandes is aware of this and recently laid out the team’s PL ambitions while speaking to Manutd.com. Let’s have a look at what he had to say. (h/t Mirror)
“We need to look forward. We don’t depend only on ourselves to get into the positions we want. We’re not hiding from that, we want to be in the Champions League”
Fernandes acknowledged that the road ahead of the team is not an easy one to travel by. However, he seemed assured that the fans would be backing them despite the impossible task that is in front of them.
The Man United skipper implied that the team will be taking things one game at a time. It seems like they only have one goal remaining which is to win every game that is left in the season no matter what.
If Manchester United can’t manage to do so, they can kiss their chances of UCL contention goodbye.
