Manchester United skipper, Bruno Fernandes says ‘individual quality’ made the difference during their game against Man City
Bruno Fernandes got the assist for what is one of the best goals that Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford has ever scored. The Manchester-born star set the bar pretty high and the Manchester derby did well to keep people engaged.
There were flashes of brilliance being seen throughout the entire 90 minutes. However, this quality was spread a little unevenly as Manchester City were the one who overwhelmed the Red Devils to claim a 3-1 victory.
Even Bruno Fernandes believes that the difference in ‘individual quality’ is what led to a loss for the Old Trafford team. Let’s have a look at what the Portuguese midfielder had to say while talking to The Guardian.
“We know that at moments we had to defend deep and be together and be compact and help each other. We did it but obviously I think today the difference was the individual quality from the players of City that made them win this game”
Many may see this as a lack of faith by the Portuguese national. However, everyone who watched the game will be inclined to agree that the City players looked better than Ten Hag’s men.
The midfielders had a ton of command over the midfield, the strikers were applying pressure throughout the game. Last but not least, the defenders seldom let a ball get near their goalkeeper. Their dominance is clear to see as they held the Red Devils to just three shots.
