Victor Lindelof had high praise for his ‘clever’ teammate following Manchester United’s win against Nottingham Forest
Victor Lindelof put on a strong showing for Manchester United during their game against Nottingham Forest. After missing more than 10 games due to injury, this seemed like the first time where the Swedish defender was playing like himself.
However, it was Casemiro, who proved to be the point of difference during United’s FA Cup triumph over Nottingham Forest. An 89th minute header from the Brazilian ended the Tricky Trees’ FA Cup hopes.
Lindelof recognized his teammate’s stellar showing and had some high praise for him once the game concluded. Let’s have a look at what he had to say. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
“I think he’s [Casemiro] very good at the timing of everything. He’s a clever player and he’s done that a couple of times in his career, so it was the perfect ball and the perfect execution from Casemiro.
The ball in question was delivered by Manchester United skipper, Bruno Fernandes who also deserves a pat on the back for helping his team clinch the win.
However, a lot of players could’ve played that cross and the same can’t be said about the excellent header hit by Brazilian midfielder, Casemiro. The 32-year-old rose up to the occasion and gave the Old Trafford crowd a reason to celebrate.
Victor Lindelof is slowly playing the rust off, Casemiro is back to scoring goals and Rasmus Hojlund’s return to the team is imminent. Once all of Ten Hag’s players are healthy, this Manchester United team will be a force to be reckoned with.
