According to a new report, some Manchester United stars asked for leave following their defeat against Fulham
The Manchester United fans were clearly not happy about their team’s loss against Fulham. It seems like they aren’t the only ones. The Guardian reports that multiple stars from the Old Trafford squad asked for an off after their loss against The Cottagers.
The usual routine for the Man United players after a loss is to report for warm-downs and video analysis. But, things went differently this time as stars from the club asked Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff for an off on Sunday.
The Dutchman must surely be disappointed about the fact that his team wants an off after such an awful display. The Guardian adds that the player’s request was rejected and training resumed in a normal fashion.
The Red Devils’ loss against Fulham marked their first after five consecutive wins in all competitions. It also took the team one step away from their hopes of playing in the UCL next season.
Why would the players ask for an off after such a crushing defeat that might just have ended their season? It could be because of Erik ten Hag’s physically taxing training sessions.
There has been a lot of talk about the Dutchman’s norms for discipline and training. Some say that he is relentless with his methods which can further fatigue his players. So, maybe the stars in question asked for an off to avoid injuries.

However, the players did not get their wishes and the atmosphere surrounding the club seems to be tense at the moment. Erik ten Hag might not be able to see out the rest of the season if he doesn’t rectify the situation and loses control of his locker room.
