Manchester United were having a tough time navigating without Casemiro for four months says Erik ten Hag
Manchester United have been dealing with a ton of injuries this season and have especially missed Casemiro. Not being able to field his team of choice has also been a pain for head coach, Erik ten Hag whose performance dropped massively during his second season at Old Trafford.
During his first season, one of the Dutchman’s best players was Brazilian midfielder, Casemiro. However, he missed 16 games over four months this season.
Erik ten Hag is aware of the 32-year-old’s impact and had some high praise for him following the conclusion of United’s game against Nottingham Forest. Let’s take a look at what the Dutchman had to say. (h/t Manchester United)
“you see how important he is for us when he is not there, like in October, November, December and January. We really missed him because he sets the structure in the team, his leadership, it makes us play better.”
Ten Hag added that Casemiro’s quality on the ball is second to none. As the Brazilian approaches the wrong side of 30, his pace has surely taken a hit. However, his experience and leadership qualities more than makeup for his shortcomings.
Man United’s season has completely turned around ever since Casemiro returned during the game against Newport County. Since then the Red Devils have won all of their games apart from the one loss that they took against Fulham.
In fact, Man United might’ve lost against Nottingham Forest if it wasn’t for the heroics of Casemiro who put his body on the line to win the game for his team.
