Manchester United vs Man City is on the horizon and Kevin De Bruyne might be a part of the Derby
Manchester United are about to take on Man City in a game that just might decide their UCL fate next season. The Manchester Derby is always an exciting game to watch, and this one will be even more since a loss could end Erik ten Hag’s career at Old Trafford.
A lot of the United fans were hoping that Kevin De Bruyne would miss the Derby. The Belgian midfielder has been far from healthy this season. But, his form upon return is a testament to his quality.
In City’s last game, De Bruyne and Erling Haaland connected four times as the Norwegian striker went on to score five goals against Luton. Moreover, despite missing half of the season the Belgian is already leading the league in assists.
Here’s what De Bruyne had to say about his health. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
“I feel good. I think only against Brentford I was a little bit tired and I had a kick on my other hamstring,”
If he’s feeling good, then there is a big chance that De Bruyne plays against Manchester United. He added that the only reason he’s been missing games is due to his six-month rest.
On the other hand, Erik ten Hag will have to field a depleted squad. The Dutchman is missing his star striker, Rasmus Hojlund, and a crucial defender Lisandro Martinez.
There are even more injured players on the United squad, but the loss of these two will hurt the most.
