Fabrizio Romano shares an update regarding Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s stance on Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United is secure for the time being. A lot of questions were being raised about the Dutchman’s future at the club.
Doubts over his future only intensified thanks to the Red Devils’ recent loss against Fulham. Heading into the game Ten Hag and his men were competing for a top-four spot in the Premier League. But, the three points they lost will surely hurt.
The Dutchman is still in the running to play in the UCL next season, however, his chances are very slim. This has cast a show of doubt over his future at Old Trafford.
Here’s what Romano had to say about the situation. (h/t Givemesport)
“My understanding remains that there is nothing concrete to these kinds of stories – Man United are giving Ten Hag time and space to develop his football and his ideas”
Romano ended his statement by saying that the Dutchman would be giving his best over the next three months. This indicates that his future is only secure until the end of the season.
If Erik ten Hag fails to reach the UCL then the outcome of that could be fatal for his career. However, a good performance in the FA Cup could prompt the new owners to give him more time at the club.
