Sir Jim Ratcliffe says he wants Manchester United to knock Premier League rivals Man City and Liverpool ‘off their perch’

During his press conference since taking control of sporting operations at Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already declared what he expects his team to do against PL Rivals like Man City and Liverpool.

The petrochemical billionaire also shed some light on the future of Mason Greenwood at Old Trafford. He says that a decision will be made during the summer, but a lot of external factors could influence how it all plays out.

He also spoke about a three-year plan that he has already set in motion to revive Manchester United and take them back to their glory days.

Let’s take a look at what else Ratcliffe had to say while talking to The Guardian.

“We have a lot to learn from our noisy neighbour and the other neighbour,”

“They are the enemy at the end of the day. There is nothing I would like better than to knock both of them off their perch.”

While he did call them their enemies the INEOS chief also acknowledged how well set up both of these organizations are. Moreover, if you take a look at the rival’s structure and quality of players, it is no surprise that the Red Devils are struggling to keep up with them.

Ratcliffe also avoided answering any questions about the future of Erik ten Hag at Manchester United. It seems like the Dutchman’s job might not be as secure as the people have been led to believe.

However, Ratcliffe did say that in the past decade, none of the managers who have been at Manchester United have found success. This means that there is nothing wrong with the managers but there is something wrong with the system.
