Jesse Lingard has joined his second club since his time at Manchester United came to an end in 2022
As confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, former Manchester United star, Jesse Lingard has completed his move to South Korea and will now be playing for FC Seoul. The 31-year-old was on his way to becoming a superstar during his time at Old Trafford.
However, a sudden drop in form led to the club moving the player on in 2022. Lingard’s next stint paled in comparison to his time and exploits at United. In 20 appearances for Nottingham Forest, the English midfielder only made four goal contributions.
His stint with Forest came to an end in the summer of 2023. Since then, Jesse has been exploring the market as a free agent biding his time for the right opportunity to come by. Now, it seems like the South Korean project ticked all of the 31-year-old’s boxes.
The Mirror claims that Lingard had offers from over 25 clubs before he decided to pen a deal with FC Seoul. Surely, some of those offers must’ve offered better terms than the measly £17,500 per week that he will be making in South Korea.
If you think that is a lot, it is important to note that Lingard was making around £180,000 per week back when he was playing for Nottingham. From the looks of it, a drop in form has led to a drop in the midfielder’s lifestyle as well.
However, Lingard is only 31 at the moment, his best years might be behind him but he has a lot left in the tank. If he can play his way back into form in South Korea a lot of clubs will start to notice him.
