Gary Neville has revealed the real reason behind Manchester United’s iconic walk-out song, ‘This is the One’
Former Manchester United skipper, Gary Neville has revealed the real reason behind the Red Devils’ iconic walk-out song ‘This is the One’. While speaking to The Overlap, Neville was asked about his jacket which had the Man United logo and the name of the song on it.
He went on to explain that he got that song changed back when he first became captain. Neville explained that after having a word with the club secretary during that time, he readily agreed to change the team’s walk-out song.
The former Red Devil also might’ve angered some rock fans as he mentioned the old music was some rock song that didn’t have a lot of feelings in it. Roy Keane who was also present has no recollection of ‘This is the One’ ever playing during the walk-out.
In proper Roy Keane fashion, the Manchester United icon said that he never noticed the song because he was always more focused on the game. Fans wish that would pay a bit more attention to some of his outrageous takes as well.
Neville also jokingly said that this was the best thing he did as the captain of Manchester United and a lot of fans seem to agree with the statement even if it was a joke.
There is no denying that ‘This is the One’ is truly an iconic song for Manchester United.
