Man United face yet another injury blow as first XI star falls during match
All was going well for Manchester United as they started strong during the second half of the season. The team had won two games in a row and were on their way to making it three as Lisandro Martinez succumbed to yet another injury.
Rasmus Hojlund got it going for the Red Devils as he scored another banger to start the game off. Alejandro Garnacho followed suit and scored two for the Old Trafford squad.
While Manchester United did end up taking three points away from West Ham United, they had to lose Lisandro Martinez in the process.
The 26-year-old Argentina national was looking very positive on the pitch. His work rate and defensive excellence over the past four games were commendable. However, a second-half collision with a West Ham United player has now injured Martinez.
He instantly fell to the ground and screamed in agony while holding onto his right knee. It looked severe for a moment, however, Martinez did walk back to the stands on his own, which is a good sign.
The 26-year-old has already missed 22 games for Manchester United season. Right as the team was looking to mount a comeback during the second half of the season, they lost a key member of their defensive line.
