Man United legend says that Marcus Rashford was ‘never perfect’ to begin with

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has said that Marcus Rashford was ‘never perfect’ to begin with. The Manchester-born star’s disciplinary issues were being discussed on The Overlap, when the former Red Devil chimed in with his thoughts.

The English forward has been subjected to a lot of backlash this weekend as he missed training after a 12-hour tequila bender. As a result, he was omitted from the squad for the fourth round of the FA Cup clash.

Since then, Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag has said on multiple occasions that the matter is now closed and was dealt with as an internal issue. It seems like Rashford’s actions had greater consequences than we have been led to believe.

Here’s what Roy Keane had to say about the 26-year-old. (h/t The Overlap)

“I don’t think he was ever that perfect”

“I’ve never thought he had some kind of halo above his head. Now, I also don’t think for one minute that he is some sort of nasty bad lad”

Well as far as talking about perfect goes, Rashford had not been involved in too many controversies before this season. It’s like Keane said, while he doesn’t have a halo above his head, it doesn’t mean that he’s a nasty lad.

While he hasn’t been the perfect role model, Rashford has seldom ever disappointed on the field. This season he has been a little lukewarm, but it is important to note that he scored 30 goals for the team last season.

Rashford has heard all the critics and answered them loudly during the game against Wolves. The 26-year-old struck within the first 10 minutes of the game to give a 1-0 lead to Manchester United.
