Manchester United teammates including Harry Maguire congratulated young prodigy Kobbie Mainoo on Instagram for his late heroics against Wolverhampton Wanderers

Manchester United star Kobbie Mainoo celebrated his late goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers, receiving congratulations from several teammates including Harry Maguire. United beat Wolves 3-4 in the dramatic game and registered their first win in the last three Premier League games.

The Red Devils started the game brilliantly after goals from Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund within 22 minutes. Pablo Sarabia brought the Wolves back with a penalty goal, but Scott McTominay provided a third goal for United immediately.

However, Wolves scored two late goals to level the scoreline 3-3 in the extra time of the second half. Mainoo stepped up for United in the 97th minute, gliding past three Wolves players to score a spectacular goal.

The 18-year-old started the game alongside Casemiro in the United’s midfield despite the return of many key players. United manager Erik ten Hag showed his faith in Mainoo, and he returned the faith of his manager in style.

Mainoo has made 13 appearances for the Red Devils in all competition, contributing with two goals and two assists. Despite his good productivity, the Englishman’s priority lies in shoring up the spaces between midfield and defence.

The 18-year-old took to Instagram to share his delight over the heroics he played for his team during the game. He received applause from several peers and teammates including Maguire, Hojlund, Amad Diallo, and Marcus Rashford.

United needs to continue their winning form during the latter half of the season to compensate for the first-half misery. They are currently seventh in the Premier League table, eight points behind the top-four finish. Furthermore, the FA Cup is the only competition with the potential to end the season with a trophy.
