Alan Shearer has high praises for young Manchester United striker
Alan Shearer had some high praise for Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish striker found himself on the score sheet during the Red Devils’ FA Cup clash against Newport County.
It was a highly competitive game till the 70th minute when Antony finally scored his first goal of the season to give Manchester United a 3-2 lead. However, the team had a 2-0 lead within the first 20 minutes and that should’ve never been erased in the first place.
Hojlund did not get a lot of chances to score during the game, but found himself in the right position as a loose ball fell to his feet and he tapped it in for United’s fourth goal of the night. Some may criticise Hojlund but Alan Shearer only had good things to say about the 21-year-old.

“It’s frustrating at times, playing in that team, because I’m not quite sure when the ball is coming in. But you’ve got to keep going, and he did that and he got his goal. He deserved it.”
Shearer is a legend of the game and the young Danish striker did a lot of things right to get such high praise from the man. Hojlund has gotten a lot of undeserved criticism during his time as a Red Devil.
People call him a flop, but he has scored more goals than Gabriel Jesus this season. The Brazilian striker is considered a star by many. Perhaps people don’t believe that such a young talent can be United’s primary option for attack.

Hojlund needs to keep his head straight and block out the noise. He and everyone else at Man United have faith in his abilities and he just needs to focus on being the player that the Red Devils trust him to be.
